I’ve been working my way through a 365 project for the past few months after being inspired by Jenni over at the Family Photographer podcast whom I listen to religiously. Jenni has taken part in various projects such as these over the years and speaks so fondly of the experience, that expansive ‘real life’ record of her family growing up, that I wanted to give it a go. I hope to try and develop a personal style and see what kind of shooting I prefer and where my strengths lie! Ive always been drawn to documentary style photography rather than posed shots but I find it tricker to shoot, I don’t know why, but the aim is to shoot everyday and hopefully I’ll improve with practice. I’ve decided to share this series in black and white, I read a brilliant quote on pinterest the other evening, it read
When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls – Ted Grant
Deep. But I think it suits the look I’m feeling just now so I’ll see how it goes. Have you tried a similar project? I’d love to hear how you got on!
